Home Care for Moms After Childbirth

After giving birth, Lehigh Valley Home Care helps you take care of yourself and your newborn

Home CareHaving a baby is an exciting time, but it also can be a challenging time. If you have diabetes, high blood pressure, need your medication managed, heart disease, postpartum depression, pre-term labor or other illnesses, your doctor may recommend you receive care in your home, where you are most comfortable. Lehigh Valley Home Care provides specialized care to help you take care of yourself and your newborn.

As soon as you and your newborn are home, a nurse will visit you to help you adjust to the changes in your life and ensure you get the support you need. A nurse can perform medical procedures, such as drawing blood, saving you a trip to the hospital. He or she also can teach you and your family how to care for yourself and your newborn, and answer any questions you may have about breastfeeding. Home health aides assist with daily living, such as bathing, light housekeeping and preparing meals.
